Activities
What it is
An activity is a single step in a flow, such as fetching data, process data, checking a condition, or sending a message.
Why it matters
Activities are the building blocks of automation. They are where DG actually does work: logic, integrations and responses.
How it works
You add activities in Flow Builder and connect them to define the order of execution.
- Each activity has inputs (what it needs to run).
- Each activity produces outputs (data you can map into the next step).
- Some activities branch the flow (decisions), and some reuse logic (subflows).
In action
In an order tracking flow, a common activity chain is:
- Action: retrieve the order
- Decision: does the order exist?
- Decision: shipped or not?
- Template: draft the message
- Action: apply the response in the helpdesk
