Decisions and Conditions

What it is

A decision is an if/then step in a flow that chooses which path to run next.

Why it matters

Decisions are how DG follows your business rules. They help DG handle different situations correctly, like shipped vs. not shipped, eligible vs. not eligible, VIP vs. standard.

How it works

• A decision checks one or more conditions using data from earlier steps (activity outputs).
• If the condition is true, the flow follows the matching branch.
• If no branch matches, the flow follows the default path (for example an otherwise branch).

In action

In an order tracking flow:

• Decision: “Does the order exist?”
  • Yes → continue and retrieve tracking data
  • No → send a message asking the customer to confirm the order number
