What it is

An action is an activity that connects DG to an external system to get or update real data.

Why it matters

Actions let DG do more than reply. They are how flows fetch order details, update tickets, create refunds, and complete tasks in the tools you already use.

How it works

• Actions run inside flows as a type of activity.
• Each action uses a module (integration) to connect to a system like Shopify, Zendesk, Salesforce, or an internal API.
• You map inputs into the action (for example order number) and map outputs out (for example tracking link).

In action

A customer asks, “Can you cancel order #12345?”

1. Flow runs the Cancel order action in the Shopify module
2. DG sends a confirmation message to the customer
3. DG logs the outcome for reporting
