What it is

A template is reusable response text with placeholders that DG fills in with real customer and order data.

Why it matters

Templates keep responses consistent, on-brand, and fast to update. They are ideal when you want predictable wording and formatting.

How it works

• A template contains fixed text plus variables (placeholders).
• In a flow, DG pulls data (often via actions) and inserts it into the template.
• The final message is then sent to the customer (email or chat).

In action

Template: “Hi {{customer_name}}, your order {{order_number}} is {{order_status}}. Track it here: {{tracking_link}}.”

• DG fills the placeholders from Shopify data
• Customer receives a complete, personalised reply
