Modules
What it is
A module is DG’s integration with an external system (like Shopify, Dixa, Zendesk, Salesforce, Google Sheets or your internal APIs) that lets flows read or write real data.
Why it matters
Modules are what make DG automation actionable. They allow DG to look up information (orders, customers, policies, tickets) and take steps (cancel an order, update a ticket, create a refund) instead of only generating a reply.
How it works
- A module is configured with authentication and connection details to a specific system.
- Each module exposes one or more actions (specific operations), such as Get order, Update ticket, or Create refund.
- In a flow, you add an action activity that uses a chosen module action.
- You map inputs into the action (e.g., order ID, email, ticket ID) and then map outputs back into the flow (e.g., delivery status, tracking link, refund confirmation) to use in decisions, templates, or chat activities.
In action
A customer asks, “Where’s my order #12345?”
- DG detects the Order tracking intent and starts the Order tracking flow
- The flow runs a Get order action from the Shopify module
- DG uses the returned data (status + tracking link) to generate the response
